French WW2 broadside titled “De Gaulle Joins Thorez”. Maurice Thorez (1900 – 1964) was a French politician and longtime leader of the French Communist Party (PCF) from 1930 until his death. He also served as Deputy Prime Minister of France from 1946 to 1947. In November 1944, Thorez returned to France from his exile in the Soviet Union.

Marty (1886 – 1956) was a leading figure in the French Communist Party (PCF) for nearly thirty years. He was also a member of the National Assembly, with some interruptions, from 1924 to 1955; Secretary of Comintern from 1935 to 1943; and Political Commissar of the International Brigades during the Spanish Civil War from 1936 to 1938.

One could dream when one hears that!” It warns that “patriots” trying to liberate France are playing into the hands of the communists and strongly warns against the Bolchevisation of France.
