Two diary of a French soldier in a German POW camp in WW2. He mainly discusses food. It begins on August 29, 1939, mentions capitulation on June 23, after which he is shuffled around between various POW camps. He attempts to learn German. What makes this diary interesting is its heavy focus on the details of what he eats. In fact, one diary is a record of each meal while the other is more of a conventional diary going into details of his daily activities. It means he kept two diaries simultaneously. Also included is his 1929 driver’s licence. B
