Collection of 12 colourful Portuguese trade cards on Latin American countries featuring leaders, flags, emblems, countries. Interesting in that the cards were produced by Sociedade Industrial dos Tabacos de Angola, based in Benguela. The company was 100% owned by British American Tobacco. c1920.
NOTE: Sociedade Industrial dos Tabacos de Angola, Lda. (commonly known as SITAL) was a historic tobacco manufacturing company in Luanda, Angola, founded during the colonial period (with records and notable collectible card series dating back to the late 1920s and 1930s). The company eventually merged with British American Tobacco Angola. The primary distribution was within Angola. However, because SITAL was a major commercial entity, these packs and cards also circulated to some extent via trade networks into neighboring African territories and back to Portugal.
