Five gum cards from the set UNCLE SAM by Philadelphia company Gum Inc (now defunct), published in 1941 shortly before Pearl Harbor. The focus of the set was directed to US preparedness for hostilities, and it is devoid of the vivid and horrifying details of the overseas warfare which was already taking place. This subset focuses on US incursions into the Caribbean (Santo Domingo) and Central America. A rare set. B
